Mayenne has some beautiful parks and gardens to visit. To see a full list of beautiful gardens to visit during the summer, check out the website below.

The department has a real passion for flowers.
The vast majority of communities take part in the annual nationwide competition in flower decoration, and 78 have been designated as a ‘Town or Village in Bloom’ at a national or regional level. In Mayenne, floral decoration is not just a science, it’s an art which in 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009 was recognised by the award of the National Department in Bloom Trophy  which is bestowed on only about 15 departments!
There are 5 communities in Mayenne which can proudly display the "Four Flowers" sign awarded to towns and villages in bloom;
Château-Gontier
Juvigné
La Cropte
Saint-Loup-du-Gast
Coudray
In gardens and parks, around ordinary private houses, on farms, waterway locks and shops, floral decoration is everywhere and is part of the warm welcome offered by the people of Mayenne.
There are a selection of Chateaux and gardens to visit throughout Mayenne.........
At La Rongère at Saint-Sulpice everything is in the pure, classic French style.
A majestic avenue of ash-trees leads to the château, at the foot of which are carefully laid-out lawns, box and rose-bushes stretching from the garden to the pavilions, all giving off their sweet fragrances.
The truly characteristic French gardens, terraced and laid out in rectilinear patterns, are to be seen everywhere.
A magnificent avenue of chestnuts and a living maze complete the picture.
Chateau de Clivoy at Chailland - From being just a military outpost, built on enormous blocks of sandstone to dominate the Ernée valley, Clivoy became a real château around the 1860s.
The château’s park and garden stretch over around 15 hectares but only the approaches to the château, the large kitchen-garden and the promenades that run below the rocky ramparts are open to the public.
To visit
- A small, round, French-style garden of box and rose-bushes, known as the “Garden of the Motte”, to the south of the château.
- A large, walled kitchen-garden with stone paths edged with box hedges and flower borders, a large orangery, a fountain, pond, pergola, herb-garden, rose-buses and fruit-trees.
- A network of paths that allow you to walk all round the château, returning through a section of the copse.
The Manoir de Favry at Préaux -  In addition to the architectural interest of this 16th-century manor house, visitors can now admire its remarkably beautifully planned grounds.
Box, topiary and French gardens have been tastefully designed on a white theme.
But the medieval garden offers vegetables and herbs alongside flowers and espaliered fruits in areas edged with plaited osier (plessis) forming a composition based on the figure 4.
Pretty willow gazebos give height and visual freedom to create an area of well-being and repose.
